Stories

Spoilers - It's about where I used to live, the oldest city in the U.S.  I lived there at age 9-11.  I know people who've lived there longer, but they don't talk to me.

There was a beautiful girl by the name Rosetta who was only 9.  In some ways she was a late bloomer, in many ways not.  She lived in an old town named Saint Augustine.  It was often very hot, as it was in Florida.  The year was only the 1900s.  She loved visiting the places there.  There were 3 museums there.  1 was a normal museum, filled with jewels and some old art, along with figurines and a room full of music boxes.  The 2nd was a wacked museum that showed, however, even things fascinating such as hanging planes, which held her interest each time they went.  Mostly, there were bizarre and freakish things here.  She lived closeby, as well.  She actually lived on the bay, about, about as close as 1 could imagine getting to it at where she was.  The 3rd was about the 3rd freakiest thing in the town.. there being a picture show featuring the death of a young Spanish girl in dark hair, like everyone else in her family.  There was also a ghost face in the tile of a large, old hotel.  Then, there were the ghost stories.  Anyway, the 3rd place was a museum of historical figures of wax which featured things that scared her.  Life was all comfits and such.  It was closeby her church, where she was in music.

So, 1 day, she was at the bay, and she met a handsome boy named Josh Groban.  He wore a dark purple tuxedo, like the color of blood oozing from that of someone who had just died and died a slow, yet unpainful death.  She looked past this..  She was being babysat by a girl of 14..  She let go her hand and was allowed to speak to him.

"Who are-"

"I'm Josh, Josh Groban."

"I'm pleased to meet you, sir Josh Groban," she replied.

"I'm quite charmed at you," he bowed low and looked seriously at her and kissed her delicate hand..

"You look like you're from up north!" she shouted and jumped up and down. "Oh, I would LOVE to live in the real woods!"

He said, "Oh, no, I don't live there.  I live in town.  Things are exciting, and it's me home.  I've come here to mentor you in your music, Rosetta..  Now, how old are you?"

"Why, I'm almost precisely 9 1/2," she answered.

"Come, let me escort you to the Cathedral Basilica of which I have heard so much.." he said.

They got in and it was empty.  He went to the organ and began to play and told her to sing, "Seek ye 1st.."  She did it with a clear tone.

"Why don't you use vibrato!" he said.

"Oh, I can," and she changed and her vibrating worked well enough.

"You are a gifted singer," he said. "Now, may I hear you play?"

She picked up a violin and began to play a simple Concerto by Bach.

"Very good," he replied. "By the way, what do you wear to church?" he asked.

"I wear, you know, like a plaid dress or 1 with small dots even," she replied rather confidently.

So, in rushed another girl with yellow hair and said, "Christina! I mean Rosetta!"  Rosetta picked her up, a darling of about 4 1/2.  She had curls at the end and smiled at Josh.

"Hey there, cutie," he said. "What do you do here?"

"I'm too young, but I play piano," she said.

They sat her down, and she played "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" quickly.

They both clapped.

Another day, another girl.  This girl was tall and serious and 12 years old.  She also did music at the big church.  She had straight dark hair and a long and thin face.  Her eyes were gray..

"Hello," Josh said, "And may I have the pleasure of intriducing myself.  I go around and meet people in this here city."

"Oh!" said the girl, whose name was Raven.

"Please," he said, "Let me see the bizarre.."

"Okay.." she said.

They went in and Josh couldn't handle himself it was so bizarre and quaint like the early times when people discovered a strange and new land.

A girl named Elizabeth sat on the bank with other people, a little girl by her and also other younger girls.  She looked blissfully off, bowing her head.
